Description
Stored Pressure, Dry Powder, Fire Extinguisher with hanging bracket A 9kg Powder extinguisher is best suited for premises in combating risk from larger fires, perhaps involving live electrical equipment, rubber, plastics, wood, paper or flammable liquid fires. Its stow-away hose facilitates easy direction to the base of the fire and Dry Powder extinguishers have very good 'knock-down' characteristics, when directed at the flames. The powder smothers flames and deprives the fire of oxygen but, unlike Water and foam extinguishers, powder takes out little of the heat of combustion, which makes powder not the best means to extinguishing fires in wood, paper and other solid material that holds great heat. Powder Fire extinguishers leave a mess and, used on engine fires, may cause as much damage as the fire, on bearing component surfaces. Suitable for use with live electrical equipment and protection against flammable liquid fire, machine and vehicle fires and in warehouses, garages and workshops.
